Results for week five....in Open, Boo took it with a 60, Lee came in 2nd with a 61, Travis in 3rd with a 65, Cody took 4th with a 67 & Jake brought up the rear with an 81! In our little Rec division, I somehow came in 1st with a 78, Chris in 2nd with an 80 & Andrew in 3rd with an 83...we all got in trouble, I just got into a little less! Next week is payout...then we're moving back over to Gulf Meadows for the last six weeks of the year! I'm proud of us brave few who have played this bitch of a course in the hottest summer ever....kudos, gang!

Forgot to post last week's results & I think I accidentally tossed the paperwork already! Anyway.....Cody took first place overall for the six weeks at Cedar Hills to win $60, Boo took 2nd place for $40 & Lee took 3rd winning $20 in the Open division. In Rec, I took 1st winning $40 & Chris took 2nd winning $20! Tomorrow we will start up the last six weeks of the year at the Guld Meadows course...remember...$20 will pay for six weeks of league...drop your two worst games (or miss two weeks)...one dollar ace optional every week ($100 waiting for someone to hit it!)...and cash payout to the top half of each division at the end of the six weeks! Come on out for the last few weeks of daylight golf during the evening!

We didn't have many return players last week for the first week of this year's last league session, but we had a couple of new players sign up & are hoping to have some more of the regulars come out tomorrow or next week at the latest. Cody Carothers & Chris Vandergriff battled it out in the Open division last Wednesday....Griff shot a 55 for 1st place & Cody took 2nd with a 58. Lee DeForke is planning on coming out next week to get his four games in...Boo & Jake are too busy at work to make this last session...Michael Ynfante, where are you? In the Rec division, my fellow Birdshooter Chris MacGregor decided to join us for the last session out here...as did Marty Berry, who's definitely a Brooks regular but because of work doesn't always have the time to committ to being here, although he's committing to making at least four rounds for this last six week session. Marty & myself tied for 1st place each shooting a 61...and Chris was right on our tail with a 62! Andrew Hernandez had to start back to school & won't make it out this time....Chris Gomez, where are you? Anyone who wants to get in for this last six weeks of 2011 can please do so tomorrow night or even by next Wednesday (Sept. 7th). Come on out & help us make these last few weeks of daylight savings time count! See you out there tomorrow!

Here are the results from weeks two & three....for Week 2 in Open, Griff took 1st place with a 49 & Travis & Cody tied for 2nd each shooting a 52. In Rec, Marty took 1st with a 59, I took 2nd with a 60 & Chris took 3rd with a 63. For Week 3 in Open...Travis took 1st shooting a hot 48, Cody took 2nd with a slightly less hot 50 & Griff took 3rd with a warm 53. Neither Marty nor myself were present last week, so Chris beat himself shooting a 62...way to beat yourself up, Chris! I may not be able to make it tomorrow either...stuck working out at our Baytown office & I doubt if I can make it out there in time to finish before dark! We'll see...if not, Chris should be there or one you guys can get me the results the next couple of days....

Here are the results from last week....in Open, Travis took the honors with a 47 (nice job!), Griff came in 2nd with a 51 & Cody took 3rd with a 53. In the Rec division, Marty & myself tied (again!) for 1st with a 65 & Chris shot a 69 (insert joke here!). I'm stuck working in Baytown this week so there's no way I can make it out there today in time to finish before dark...Chris will be there so you can give your scores to him.

Only one representative from each camp showed up yesterday afternoon...Cody shot a 56 & Chris shot a 66...of course, no matter what they shot they both win their division for the week simply by showing up! Dax came out to join them & shot a 55...WTG, Dax!

Tonight's the night, gentlemen....last Brooks league night for 2011! Yes, it's a little sad....but whadda ya gonna do? See you there by 5:30!

The last night for this year's Jack Brooks league came & went....I'm a little sad that it's over, but daylight savings time has to end sometime I guess. In the Open division, Travis shot a 49 to take the lead spot, Griff shot a 52 for 2nd & Cody shot a 56 for 3rd. The overall winner for the six weeks was Travis with a total of 38.5 points for $40, barely beating Griff's 38 points for the leftover $20...Cody ended up with 36.5 points, but no money this time around. In the Rec division, Marty killed me last night shooting an even 54 for the win...I shot a horrible 67 & Chris was a no-show due to a death in the family. Overall, Marty took the six weeks with 39 points for $40...and I took 2nd & $20 with 37 points...Chris ended up with 36 points (and could have took my 2nd place from me if he'd been able to attend). We may be changing things up a bit for next year...stay tuned for possible info about that! Thanks, Brooks Brothers, for another great year of league!

As most of you probably already know, we decided at the end of last year to start up in the spring of 2012 with a South Side Mini Series instead of league....ace pots from here and from Miramar are being squashed together to make one gigantic lump sum to start out with...we'll be doing these on Thursdays & we'll start at Miramar on March 22nd at 5:00 (it will still be getting dark at 7:30 when we start)....watch for a new thread here with prices & more info soon!
